Q. What types of photos work best?
A. Almost any photo that you love will do just fine. And, no, you do not need
to search for the smallest photo you can find. Any size photo will work,
big or small. Head shots work best and we can use color or black and white,
so don’t worry. All editing is done on our end and photos are returned
to you in their original state and condition.
Q. How many people can you fit into one charm?
A. We can only fit one subject into the Classic II charms, however, we can
fit up to four in the Large Round Medallion. There is a more involved process
to edit the subjects closer together for optimal fit, but not to worry, we
are experts in this process!
Q. Do I get my photos back?
A. Absolutely! We return all photos with your finished product. We also keep
a digital copy on file in case of future ordering.
Q. Can I email my photos? Or does sending them via regular
mail insure a better quality?
A. Yes! We prefer emailing. If you are able, this is the quickest way for us
to get started on your custom order asap. Jpeg format works best if this is
possible.
If you are not versed in this process, you can send your photos in regular
mail to Deb at Family Jewels.
If you click on the the “Contact Deb” I will gladly email or call you with
my mailing address.
Q. How long will it take to receive my product?
A. My first response to this question is usually…”It depends how busy I am
at the time you place your order.” So if it’s the week before Mothers Day
or Christmas time, it could take longer that an order that arrives in September.
Usually an order can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks from the time that I receive
your photos. If you need your order faster than that and sometimes even overnight…we
do have a *rush option in production and shipping. (see “important details”
page)
Q. Do I have to put the photos in myself ?
A. No, we take care of all the editing of your photos, protecting them, and
securing them in your charms. You will receive a completely finished product.
Q. My neck/wrist is smaller/bigger than normal. Do you
customize for this purpose?
A. Yes. The silver necklaces come in three different lengths
16, 20, & 24
inch lengths and the gemstone jewelry is all completely custom to your specific
desires and needs. Please make sure to indicate this information with your
initial order or conversation with me.
Q. Will it be possible to add additional charms in the
future? Or change/update my pictures?
A. Yes. Of course. You will probably have to send back the original piece for
such additions. And yes, for a nominal fee you will more than likely, be able
to update your photos.
Q. Can you help out with my photos to make people appear
closer together?
A. Yes. We do our very best to get subjects as tightly together as possible,
but when looking to put more than one subject in a medallion, please keep in
mind that the closer together your subjects heads are, the larger the finished
product…and therefore the more visible for the recipient.
Q. Can I polish my charms?
A. Yes we suggest that you will use a silver polishing cloth that to keep your
jewels sparkling. Liquid cleaners are not recommended. Please remember that
over time and wear, silver does tarnish and will need polishing from time
to time.
Q. Can I return my piece if I am not happy
or if it breaks?
A. Because each piece is custom made per your request, Deb does not issue refunds.
Repairs and minimal adjustments are not a problem but after 30 days from the
purchase date, no refunds or exchanges are available on any and all merchandise.
